When your bankruptcy attorney prepares your bankruptcy petition, she will have to complete Schedule D – Creditors Holding Secured Claims (also known as Official Form 6D). Schedule D requires you to list all of your creditors who are holding claims that are secured by your property, including judgment liens, garnishments, statutory liens, mortgages, and deeds of trust. You must list the creditor’s name and address; whether there is a codebtor; whether the debt is yours, your spouse’s, or a joint deb (if you are filing a joint petition); whether the debt is contingent, liquidated, or disputed; the amount of the claim; and the amount of unsecured claim, if any.
If you have any questions about how to fill out Schedule D and whether the claim is contingent, liquidated, or disputed, you should consult with a Colorado bankruptcy attorney.
