Peter Mullison – Bankruptcy Attorney in Denver and Colorado
I love being a bankruptcy attorney. It’s one of the most gratifying things I’ve ever done. I spend every day helping people battle overwhelming debt and securing their financial future.
After spending several years representing creditors in debt collection and bankruptcy proceedings, I realized that I just didn’t enjoy telling people what I did for a living. Instead of feeling like the Grim Reaper, I wanted to be on the other side of the negotiating table, helping people, not corporations.
Struggling with financial difficulties can be one of the hardest things anyone can face. I have committed myself to counseling and guiding my clients during through the bankruptcy process. My experience as a creditors’ attorney means that, when the time comes, I can anticipate what actions your creditors will take and how to best respond to them. I also have extensive litigation experience. If a creditor decides to oppose your bankruptcy filing, I will use that experience to fight for the best result.
Before I Became A Bankruptcy Attorney, I Walked Your Path
When I was 31 years old I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I had supported myself through college using credit cards and student loans and gotten in over my head. I could no longer make ends meet. My financial future looked bleak.
Filing personal bankruptcy still stands as one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I was filled with shame and embarrassment. I felt like a failure and that I was cheating people who had given me credit. It was several years before told anyone I had filed. More than twenty years later, I believe it was the best decision I could have made. The experience transformed me and improved my life by helping me avoid the mistakes I had made that led me to bankruptcy in the first place.

I have been practicing bankruptcy in Denver since 2010. I have been representing clients since 1996 when I was an intern in the legal services program at the University of Wyoming College of Law serving low income clients. Before I became an attorney, I grew up in Casper, WY and served in the Navy for four years after high school. I am licensed in California and Colorado. When I’m not helping people create their new financial future, I enjoy spending time with my family exploring Colorado’s hiking and bike trails or twisting the throttle on my motorcycle.
